I am glad to be able to perform this year as part of Diaspora. I will be presenting a dance solo I presented last year in the Spellbound event. As I was hosting the event, and dancing just before presenting it, I am hoping I am able to progress my piece a bit.
Mi piece is an exploration or ancestry around colonisation/decolonization, and my character is inspired in a pre columbian gold bat, recurrent character in Indigenous cultures in Colombia believed to represent a bridge in between worlds.
The event is free however there are limited number of tickets and they get refunded or redeemed after.
This show is part of Compass Presents‘ Love Letter to Broadmead project and Diverse Artist Network's DIASPORA! Festival,
Diaspora lasts for almost two weeks so lots not to be missed, and i am curious amout the show of the other 4 women taking part

The project has been born out of conversations with local people. Pounding the pavements across December and early Jan, the Compass team visited every business in Broadmead and had exciting chats with the cultural organisations in the area, ultimately recruiting a pool of young people to lead and deliver the project alongside us.
