Five Women one Show | A Loveletter to Broadmead |Diaspora & Compass
I am glad to be able to perform this year as part of Diaspora. I will be presenting a dance solo I presented last year in the Spellbound event. As I was hosting the event, and dancing just before presenting it, I am hoping I am able to progress my piece a bit.
Mi piece is an exploration or ancestry around colonisation/decolonization, and my character is inspired in a pre columbian gold bat, recurrent character in Indigenous cultures in Colombia believed to represent a bridge in between worlds.
The event is free however there are limited number of tickets and they get refunded or redeemed after.
This show is part of Compass Presents‘ Love Letter to Broadmead project and Diverse Artist Network's DIASPORA! Festival,
Diaspora lasts for almost two weeks so lots not to be missed, and i am curious amout the show of the other 4 women taking part

The project has been born out of conversations with local people. Pounding the pavements across December and early Jan, the Compass team visited every business in Broadmead and had exciting chats with the cultural organisations in the area, ultimately recruiting a pool of young people to lead and deliver the project alongside us.
Bridging Resistance with Fusion Bellydance |
As part of Diaspora, I am bringing a Fusion bellydance intro workshop, My hope is to present a taster of what I love about this style of dance.
Although for me is a vehicle to express art end explore embodying music, It has a strong multicultural background that carries the context of resistance, resilience and defiance and it can deepen this to adapt to our current times if we honour its lineage.
No experience necessary, all levels, all ages, all bodies, all genders
If you are curious and want to come have some fun, I would love to see you there.

I have been co-hosting these events thanks to Diverse artists Network for almost a year now, and this is our final celebration. We have gathered across different parts of Bristol, listened to one another, played through movement, creativity and song and simply enjoyed getting together. I am super excited to be closing this cycle with this multicultural sharing feast. If this makes you curious please come along and invite your femme friends. you can book your tickets HERE.
Cacao, Womb and Plants Gatehring with Danilua
Using Cacao from the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, Colombia, Danilua invites us to her sharing of ancestral knowledge of the sacred feminine.
Exploring through movement, traditional dance and song She will lead us to reconnect with this ancestral knowledge and meet our inner light, manifestation and magic.
Bristol WOW Women’s circle
Our last WOW circle of the year! It's almost that time called Christmas where we often feel the pressure to be with family, the challenges of how to connect together, or the difficulty of not being able to fit into this convention.
Bristol WOW Women’s circle
We gather this time at the Round house in Knowle, where we can cosy up by the wood burner or enjoy Bristol views and autumnal freshness.
This time we will have artist and dancer Victoria Bone. She will lead us through creative healing practices relating to her studio practice ad current work "Attempts of self healing".
The date is close to Halloween, originally Samhain in Celtic history, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter and darker time of the year. We will touch upon this in our gathering as well.
